Half-Time Report: Valencia lead Swansea City

Swansea City are a goal behind after 45 minutes of their Europa League Group A tie with Valencia.

Valencia are beating Swansea City 1-0 in this evening's Europa League match at the Liberty Stadium.

Wilfried Bony came close to giving the hosts the lead when he headed a corner wide, after a poor punch by keeper Diego Alves.

Serigo Canales was the first Valencia player to test out Gerhard Tremmel, but his shot was comfortably held by the keeper.

Valencia took the lead through Daniel Parejo, after Swansea had failed to clear a corner, leaving the midfielder with a simple finish.

Parejo came close again with a low effort that looked to be heading wide, but Tremmel made sure he got a hand on the ball.

In the final minute of the half Alvaro Vazquez had a goal ruled out for offside, when he tapped home after the keeper had failed to keep hold of Jonjo Shelvey's strike.
