Swansea City are asked to cough up £6m to keep Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Swansea City must pay £6m if they wish to secure the services of Gylfi Sigurdsson on a permanent basis.

The Icelandic international's current club Hoffenheim have said that they are not prepared to sell the player at a cut price, The Mirror reports.

Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers faces stiff competition for the midfielder's signature from top European sides Inter Milan and Juventus, as well as Aston Villa closer to home, and Spain's Malaga.

Hoffenheim's new coach Markus Babbel has also assured Sigurdsson that he is welcome to return to the club next season. The player joined Swansea on loan after falling out with previous boss Holger Stanislawski.

Sigurdsson joined the Bundesliga outfit from Reading in a £6.5m deal.
