Huw Jenkins suggests Garry Monk will be sacked as Swansea City manager

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins suggests that Garry Monk is on his way out of the struggling Premier League club.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has hinted that manager Garry Monk will be sacked by declaring that "something needs to change" with the Premier League side.

The Welsh outfit have managed just one win in their last 12 games after starting the season unbeaten with three wins in five.

Monk took training as normal today, but Jenkins, who was in London to collect an OBE for services to sport in Wales, suggested that an announcement on the former defender's future could be imminent.

"We all feel at the club that something needs to change to get things back on a positive note as quickly as possible and get us back to the levels of performances we have got to have to win games at the Premier League level," PA quotes Jenkins as saying.

When asked if there would be an announcement today, Jenkins added: "Not today, because I am up here [in London]."

The Swans' slump has seen them drop from fourth to 15th and they now lie just two points above 19th-placed Sunderland.
