West Ham United's summer signing Angelo Ogbonna has revealed that manager Slaven Bilic convinced him to move to Upton Park.
The 27-year-old joined the Hammers from Juventus last month for a fee reported to be in the region of £9m.
Ogbonna, who won back-to-back Serie A titles with Juve, believes that joining the East London outfit is the best decision for his career right now.
"I talked with the boss and he explained to me what he wants to do with this club," the London Evening Standard quotes Ogbonna as saying.
"The manager sold me the story and I feel it is better for my career to come to West Ham now."
The Hammers got their season off to a winning start by sealing a 2-0 triumph over Arsenal at the Emirates last Sunday.
