West Ham United youngster George Moncur has signed a permanent deal with Colchester United after starting the season on loan at the League One club.
The 21-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year contract at the Colchester Community Stadium.
Moncur, who is a graduate of West Ham's academy, has scored three goals in 20 games for the U's this term.
"There is some sadness about leaving West Ham because I was there for a good few years and I had some great times there," he told the club's official website. "I have got to thank the people at West Ham, especially Nick Haycock and Ian Hendon who spent a lot of time with me and improved my game."
Colchester return to League One action on Saturday when they make the trip to Coventry City.
