West Ham United have joined Liverpool in the race to sign World Cup star Domagoj Vida from Besiktas, according to a report.
The Reds are believed to have already tabled an offer for the centre-back, who was among the best defenders in this summer's tournament for finalists Croatia.
Vida is proving to be in demand, as NTV Spor claims that West Ham have pushed ahead with a £16m bid of their own as they continue their spending spree under new boss Manuel Pellegrini.
However, the same report indicates that the Turkish club have already informed the Hammers - as they did Liverpool - that it will take significantly more to sign the 29-year-old.
Besiktas only signed Vida from Dynamo Kiev in January, with a four-and-a-half-year deal being penned at Vodafone Park.
