West Ham United owners pledge to sign more "world-class" players

West Ham United's owners say they will sign more world-class players ahead of their move to the Olympic Stadium.

West Ham United owners David Gold and David Sullivan have said that they intend to sign world-class players for the club in the coming years.

The Hammers currently sit seventh in the Premier League table following their 3-0 win over Hull City, and the owners hope to push the club on ahead of their move to the Olympic Stadium in 2016.

In an open letter to the fans, they said: "Our aim is to bring in more world-class players that can play in the 'West Ham Way'. We have broken the club's transfer record twice in the last three years and we will continue to make significant funds available to strengthen the playing squad this summer as we build a team that will befit our new home.

"We will also endeavour to hang onto our best players as, too often in the past, previous Boards have sold our most promising players."

West Ham next face Bristol City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
