Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has refused to blame player sales on the side's bad form this season.
The Latics sold Mohamed Diame, Hugo Rodallega and Victor Moses in the summer, and have subsequently slipped into the relegation zone.
However, Martinez believes that injuries are to blame for their disappointing campaign.
"What is affecting us far more in this period is that we've had injuries to seven or eight players," Martinez told The Mirror.
"In every transfer market where we have lost players, we have replaced them and improved the side.
"Victor Moses is a very special player, but his departure has helped us grow and invest."
