A brace from Bas Dost helped Wolfsburg to regain second spot in the Bundesliga this afternoon thanks to a 3-1 victory away at struggling SC Paderborn.
While the visitors are riding high, the home side remain in the relegation zone on goal difference with just two matches left to play.
It took Wolfsburg just 16 minutes to break the deadlock through Timm Klose, who headed in a cross from Swiss full-back Ricardo Rodriguez.
Then, just nine minutes later, the away side were two goals to the good as Dost stole in to convert a low pass from Ivan Perisic.

Former Chelsea playmaker Kevin De Bruyne went close to adding a third goal from distance as the first half drew to a close, but it was only a two-goal advantage that Dieter Hecking's men took into break.
They continued to dominate proceedings after the restart, but it was not until eight minutes from time that they made sure of the outcome.
Dutch striker Dost was afforded too much time inside the area and he duly punished the Paderborn defence by rolling in his 18th goal of the campaign.
There was still time for Lukas Rupp to pull one back for Paderborn in the closing stages, but it was nothing more than a consolation strike from the 24-year-old.
