Jonny May "desperate" to seize England chance

Jonny May admits that he is "desperate" to be part of the England squad for the Rugby World Cup.

England winger Jonny May has admitted that he is "desperate" to be part of the country's Rugby World Cup squad.

The 25-year-old was dropped during the Six Nations, but he is due to start against France at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday.

May now hopes that he can seize his chance this weekend and put himself at the front of coach Stuart Lancaster's thoughts ahead of the tournament.

"I was very, very disappointed [to get dropped], and very hard on myself, but you have two options really; you can just feel sorry for yourself, or get out there and try and put it right," he told BBC Sport.

"I am desperate to get back in. I feel like I've worked hard and played some good stuff for Gloucester at the back end of last season, and have come into camp and given it my best.

"It's all gone well so far, but I've got to go out on the pitch and nail it. I've got an opportunity this weekend, and I'm looking forward to it."

May has won 13 caps for England since 2013.
