Gloucester Rugby's Charlie Sharples believes that he needs to be in top form in order to secure an England recall.
The 24-year-old was not picked by England coach Stuart Lancaster to join the squad for the Six Nations tournament next month.
The Hong Kong-born athlete believes that Gloucester's current form has played a part in Lancaster's decision not to select him.
"I've got belief in myself that I can be in that mix, but you have to be in form as a player and be doing that for a team that's in form," BBC Sport quotes Sharples as saying.
Sharples, who has four caps for England, last featured for the nation against Australia in 2012.
