Toby Flood retains Leicester Tigers captaincy

Toby Flood retains the Leicester Tigers captaincy for the new campaign.

Toby Flood has admitted his delight after learning that he will remain as skipper of the Leicester Tigers in the new season.

The 28-year-old, who led the club to their 10th league title last season, replaced Geordan Murphy as captain in the latter part of the campaign.

"I enjoyed the role of captain during last season and I'm looking forward to continuing," he told the club's official website.

"There are so many good players and leaders in this squad that everyone shares the responsibility on and off the field."

Flood joined Tigers from Newcastle Falcons in 2008.
