World number nine Angelique Kerber swept aside Katarzyna Piter to move into the second round of the French Open this evening.
Kerber, a former quarter-finalist at Roland Garros, cruised into a first-set lead courtesy of a 6-3 win over Piter - who is ranked 97 in the world.
The German then inflicted three breaks of serve over her Polish counterpart en route to a 6-1 second-set win as Kerber booked her place in round two in just 67 minutes.
Kerber will now face Varvara Lepchenko for a place in the third round.
