Arsenal and Manchester City have reportedly entered the race to sign AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer ahead of this summer's transfer window.
The 25-year-old has been a key part of the Rossoneri side that has reached the Champions League semi-finals this term, scoring the decisive goal in the first leg of their last-eight tie with Serie A champions Napoli.
Having joined the San Siro club from Empoli in 2019, the Algeria international has featured 144 times for Milan over a four-year period, scoring six goals in that time.
According to Football Transfers, Arsenal and Manchester City are set to fight it out for Bennacer's services next season.
The report adds that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is seriously considering a plot to lure the midfielder back to the Emirates, with Bennacer graduating out of their North London academy but only featuring once for the first team.
Bennacer and his AC Milan teammates host local rivals Inter Milan in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday night, with the Rossoneri three matches away from a famous European success.
