Yossi Benayoun has been branded a "Judas" by a number of Chelsea supporters following comments that the Israeli made on Twitter.
The 31-year-old, who is on a season-long loan deal with Arsenal from the Blues, tweeted yesterday congratulating his current teammates on their 5-3 victory over his parent club.
"What a great win today!!! Well done guys!," Benayoun wrote on the social networking site.
That comment sparked a negative reaction for the Chelsea faithful, with one tweeting: "I liked - really liked - @YossiBenayoun15 until yesterday but not now. He is judas for sure and I still can't digest the way he celebrated against #cfc."
The former Liverpool and West Ham United midfielder has since replied to those messages, insisting that his comment has been blown out of proportion.
"Shame that some of the chelsea fans here take my last tweet in a wrong way," he said. "Its obvious i would say well done to my teammates. This is what's sports is all about."
Benayoun has made six appearances for the Gunners.
