How Chelsea could line up against Arsenal

Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up in Tuesday's Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Chelsea will be looking to strengthen their grip on fourth spot in the Premier League table when they welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

The Blues have suffered eight league defeats this season - including a 1-0 loss at Newcastle United on Saturday - but Frank Lampard's side are still fourth, five points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United.

Chelsea won the last clash between the two sides at Stamford Bridge - a 3-2 success in August 2018 - while Arsenal have not triumphed on the road to their rivals since October 2011.

The capital giants have lost three of their last five home matches in the league, though, with West Ham United, Bournemouth and Southampton all triumphing at Stamford Bridge during that run.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the home side could line up in the derby.

Chelsea are still without the services of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic due to long-term injuries, while Christian Pulisic remains on the sidelines with a groin problem.

Reece James is also a doubt with the knee injury that he picked up against Newcastle, meaning that Emerson Palmieri could start at left-back as Marcos Alonso is also still unavailable for selection.

Kurt Zouma is pushing for a recall and could replace Andreas Christensen at the back, but Mateo Kovacic is likely to miss out once again with Mason Mount set to start alongside N'Golo Kante and Jorginho in midfield.

Further forward, there are unlikely to be alterations from the clash with Newcastle, meaning that Tammy Abraham should again be supported by Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Pedro and Michy Batshuayi are options for change; both players continue to be linked with moves away from the club, though, and therefore it would be a surprise to see either in the XI for the clash with the Gunners.
