Arsenal are reportedly ready to hold talks with Athletico Paranaense regarding midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
Earlier this week, the Brazilian club's president Mario Celso Petraglia suggested that the Gunners were keen on signing the defensive-minded player in the summer.
However, with Benfica pushing to get a deal over the line before the end of January, it appears that Arsenal are being forced to act on their interest.
According to Goal.com, sporting director Edu is due to hold talks with the 22-year-old's representatives at the beginning of next week.
The report adds that the Premier League outfit may be willing to make a formal bid later in the transfer window.
Paranaense are said to be looking for a fee in the region of £17m.
