Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly happy to wait until the end of the season before making a move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
The Citizens came close to securing the Chilean's signature in the summer after reaching a £55m agreement with the Gunners, only for a move to break down on deadline day.
Paris Saint-Germain have since increased their interest in the 29-year-old, but Sky Sports News suggests that City are still the frontrunners to get a deal over the line.
However, it is claimed that Guardiola fears upsetting the balance of his squad and has instead informed club chiefs to hold off making an approach until Sanchez's contract expires at the end of the campaign.
City will instead use the January window to strengthen at the back, while a defensive midfielder will also be targeted over the next eight months.
