Manchester City are reportedly considering a move for Athletic Bilbao defender Unai Nunez, but may wait until the summer before securing a deal.
The 22-year-old has not been a regular for Athletic this season, making just seven La Liga appearances so far.
According to the Manchester Evening News, City is the most likely destination for Nunez, with Pau Torres and Kalidou Koulibaly also under consideration.
The report adds that City will not make a move for a defender this month, while it also ruled out the suggestion that John Stones could depart for Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola's side have struggled in defence this season following the departure of Vincent Kompany in the summer, with Rodri and Fernandinho both filling in at centre-back.
City are currently 14 points adrift of Premier League table toppers Liverpool, while Liverpool also have a game in hand.
