Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for his former club Barcelona.
Between 2005 and 2013, Thiago progressed from the youth setup to the first team at Camp Nou, eventually netting 11 goals in 101 appearances for Barca before leaving for Bayern.
However, according to Don Balon, both Barca and the 26-year-old are keen on agreeing to a reunion for the January transfer window, with the Catalan giants having funds to spend after selling Neymar in August and Thiago being keen on leaving Bayern.
The Spanish international is regarded as an alternative to Philippe Coutinho, with Liverpool continuing to maintain their firm stance on their star man, while Thiago would likely cost less money than the Brazilian.
Bayern remain in a strong position, however, with Thiago - who has made eight appearances this season - having a contract at the Allianz Arena until 2021.
