Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge has claimed that he is 'hopeful' of being given a chance to play down the middle this season.
The 22-year-old, who scored 11 league goals this season, has also insisted that he has "grown up" since joining the club.
"I hope so. I've grown up a lot since I first joined the club. It's my fourth season with the club so it's going to be a big year, and a big year for everybody, but definitely a huge year for myself to prove to some people what I can do," he told the club's official website.
Sturridge will battle with Fernando Torres for a central striking role this season.
