Manchester City may reportedly join the race to sign Porto defender Alex Telles, who is due to leave the Portuguese giants during the next transfer window.

Manchester City are reportedly contemplating an approach for Porto defender Alex Telles.

While the Brazil international is a key man at the Portuguese giants, he is due to move to a different club during the next transfer window due to having just one year left on his contract.

Although Chelsea are now only regarded as outsiders for the left-back's signature, Paris Saint-Germain are expected to make a strong effort to sign the 26-year-old.

However, Correio de Manha claims that the Ligue 1 champions face stiff competition from City, who are considering their options at full-back.

With Oleksandr Zinchenko and Benjamin Mendy having failed to hold down a regular starting role, Pep Guardiola is open to bringing in a fresh face for that position.

In four years at Porto, Telles has contributed 21 goals and 52 assists from just 183 appearances.
