Chesterfield have decided to call time on John Sheridan's three-year managerial stint at the club.
The League Two outfit released a short statement claiming that the 47-year-old has been "relieved of his duties" with immediate effect.
There was pressure on Sheridan's position at the club after they succumbed to relegation from League One at the end of last season.
The Spireites currently sit in 18th position in the table after three games, which accumulated into two draws and one defeat.
