England manager Gareth Southgate has admitted that Emile Smith Rowe is unlikely to take part in Saturday's international friendly with Switzerland at Wembley.
The Arsenal attacker was not present in training on Friday for unexplained reasons, a day after fellow Gunner Bukayo Saka was forced to withdraw due to COVID-19.
Speaking at his pre-game press conference, Southgate confirmed reports over Smith Rowe's absence, and the Three Lions boss has admitted that the 21-year-old is a major doubt for Saturday's game.
"Emile missed training today, I would think unlikely he'll be involved tomorrow," Southgate told reporters. "Nothing too serious but we'll check to see whether he can be involved."
Southgate has also seen Sam Johnstone, Reece James, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Tammy Abraham and Aaron Ramsdale pull out of the squad for March's fixtures due to injury or illness.
England face another exhibition match with Ivory Coast three days after doing battle with Switzerland in the capital.
