Report: Alvaro Vasquez to miss remainder of season

Shoulder surgery will reportedly keep Getafe forward Alvaro Vasquez on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.

Getafe will reportedly be without Alvaro Vasquez until the end of the season, with the forward due to undergo shoulder surgery on Friday.

The 23-year-old has been troubled by the injury in recent weeks and it is understood that his club have now stepped in to address the issue.

According to Inside Spanish Football, the striker will go under the knife next Friday and will not return to action until pre-season training.

Vasquez has netted seven league goals for Getafe this season – playing a key role in their solid season to date. As it stands, the capital outfit are 13th in La Liga, eight points clear of the bottom three.
