Hull City manager Steve Bruce has revealed that Burnley striker Charlie Austin failed his medical with the club because of a knee problem.
The 24-year-old was expected to join the Premier League side on Tuesday, but the deal collapsed.
"Unfortunately he's got a bit of a knee problem," Bruce told Sky Sports News. "Unfortunately that's put a stop to the deal."
When asked if a transfer would still be possible in the future, Bruce added: "I wouldn't have thought so."
Austin scored 28 goals for Burnley last season.
