Liverpool midfielder Lucas has undegone surgery on his knee injury.
The Brazilian was ruled out for the rest of the season following anterior cruciate ligament damage suffered to his left knee in the Reds' Carling Cup win over Chelsea last week.
"LFC medical staff were present during the procedure," read a club statement.
"Lucas will now begin an agreed rehabilitation programme which will be overseen by the club's medical team."
The Merseysiders host Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League on Saturday.
