Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero targets return against Liverpool

Sergio Aguero could return from injury after the international break when Manchester City host Liverpool on November 21.

Sergio Aguero has set his sights on returning to the Manchester City lineup in the Premier League home match against Liverpool in 11 days' time.

The Argentine striker injured his hamstring while on international duty last month and has not played for City since scoring five in 20 minutes against Newcastle United.

He is not away with Argentina in the current international break and is working hard to return to action when City host Liverpool a week on Saturday.

"I don't think I'm too far away now," Aguero told City's website. "Physically, I feel good and I've kept as fit as I can during my lay-off.

"I still need to work hard for another week and if not this week, then maybe next, I hope to start training with the rest of the lads and so and my target is Liverpool."

Aguero's back-up Wilfried Bony came off injured at the weekend against Aston Villa, so if Aguero does not return to face Liverpool then young forward Kelechi Iheanacho might be Manuel Pellegrini's only out-and-out striking option available.
