Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is reportedly close to signing a new five-year deal with the club.
The Belgian defender has led City to the verge of their first league title in 44 years.
The Blues will lift the Premier League trophy for the first time if they beat lowly Queens Park Rangers later today (Sunday).
The club are now hopeful that the the 26-year-old will commit himself to the improved terms, according to The Sun.
Kompany, who was recently named Barclays Premier League Player of the Year, has two years left on his current deal.
