Andrea Pirlo reportedly has no intention of joining Manchester City on a loan deal following his transfer to MLS side New York City FC.
The Italian agreed a move with the Manhattan-based outfit on Monday following a four-year spell at Juventus.
There were suggestions that Pirlo would mirror Frank Lampard in moving to the Premier League to play for City on a short-term deal, but according to Goal.com, that scenario has been ruled out.
Meanwhile, Lampard is expected to make his MLS debut this weekend, while his former England teammate Steven Gerrard is likely to do the same for Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday.
