Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy reveals that he will start his coaching courses in September.

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed that he will begin to take his coaching badges later this year.

The 36-year-old called time on his playing career last summer following a spell in La Liga with Malaga.

However, despite the fact that he had never previously considered management, the Dutchman has revealed that he will start working with another of his former clubs - PSV Eindhoven - in September.

"I'm going to start my coaching badges in September. It's going to be in Holland as I'll start at PSV in September and get my coaching experience with them," he told Man United's official website. "It's part of a course and I'm looking forward to that and will see where it takes me. It lasts for three years so it's quite a big thing for me. I'm going to take my time, not rush it and take it step-by-step.

"I always said I'd never do it. But now, once I'd retired, I had a year out in Marbella and it was fantastic to come to terms with retirement and what has happened over the past 20 years.

"I've come to terms with that and also what's next so, in that sense, I've had a great year to see where my interests lie. It's definitely looking towards passing on my experience over many, many years."

Van Nistelrooy scored 150 goals from 219 outings for the Red Devils.
