Massimiliano Allegri will want a sizable transfer budget if he replaces Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United in the near future, according to a report.

Massimiliano Allegri reportedly wants a sizeable transfer budget should he take over at Manchester United in the coming months.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure following the club's poor start to the league season, which continued at the weekend when they were beaten 2-0 by West Ham United.

Former Juventus coach Allegri has been repeatedly linked with the top job at United, with those rumours gaining traction after the Italian left Turin in the summer after five successful seasons.

Tuttosport now reports that the 52-year-old is among their top choices to replace Solskjaer should they choose to pull the trigger on the Norwegian, who has been in charge at Old Trafford since December 2018.

However, the report suggests that Allegri will only consider taking the job if he is given a big transfer budget to spend in January, as is believed to think the United squad needs overhauling.
