Philipp Lahm has played down the prospect of Manchester United winger Angel di Maria joining Bayern Munich by admitting that he would be too expensive.
The Argentine has struggled to scale the heights expected of him since sealing a club-record £59m move to Old Trafford from Real Madrid last summer.
Consequently, speculation has mounted that a departure is on the cards, with Arsenal, Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain all linked, but the right-back says that he would be too pricey for the Germans.
"I don't know if he is a candidate. I don't know where he will go to or if he will stay," Lahm told Goal.com.
"He costs a huge amount of money. There are so many factors like salary and whatever. There are many other people in our club who know more about that topic than me."
Di Maria, whose contract expires in 2019, scored three and set up 10 goals in 27 Premier League games last season.
