Manchester United view Jadon Sancho as a potential makeweight in a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, according to a report.

Manchester United reportedly view Jadon Sancho as a potential makeweight in a move for Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane during this summer's transfer window.

Kane was identified as Man United's leading target for this summer earlier this year, but it is still seen as highly unlikely that Tottenham will allow the England captain to move to a domestic rival.

At this stage, the Red Devils are believed to be focusing on a deal for Atalanta BC's Rasmus Hojlund, with the club cooling their interest in Kane due to the complexities surrounding a move.

However, according to The Independent, the 20-time English champions have not entirely given up on signing the Three Lions skipper, who is also being heavily linked with Bayern Munich.

The report claims that Man United view Sancho as a possible makeweight in a bid, although it is unclear whether Spurs have an interest in the former Manchester City youngster.

Borussia Dortmund have been linked with a loan move for their former player, but it is understood that the German giants have now dropped their interest.

Sancho was a regular for Man United last season despite missing a chunk of games due to a personal issue, featuring on 41 occasions in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.

The 23-year-old has largely found it difficult to make his mark for the Red Devils, though, since arriving in a high-profile move from Dortmund in the summer of 2021.

The attacker's struggles at club level have seen him lose his spot in the England squad, and he has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 79 matches for Man United in all competitions.

Bayern are currently seen as the favourites to sign Kane this summer, but it is understood that the forward would choose to join Man United over any other club.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has allegedly made it clear that the 29-year-old will not be leaving this summer, but the situation could change if the forward pushes for an exit late in the window.

Kane was again in excellent form for his North London club during the 2022-23 campaign, finding the back of the net on 32 occasions in all competitions, including 30 goals in the Premier League.

Tottenham finished down in eighth position in England's top flight, though, meaning that there will be no European football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming season.

Real Madrid were also credited with an interest in Kane earlier this summer, with Karim Benzema moving on, but Los Blancos have allegedly since decided against a move.
