Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot has admitted that team spirit played its part in the club's 1-0 victory away at Bournemouth.
A first-half effort from Ayoze Perez earned the Magpies the three points, and despite acknowledging that his team were below par, Elliot hopes that the North-East giants can build on the win.
The 29-year-old is quoted by the Chronicle Live as saying: "We didn't play well but that team spirit we've been building was there. It was a well-earned victory and we need to build on it."
Victory for Newcastle took their recent run to seven points from four games, after previously gaining just three points from their first seven outings this season.
