Mauricio Pochettino 'agrees Paris Saint-Germain deal after Tuchel sacking'

Paris Saint-Germain agree a deal with Mauricio Pochettino to become their new manager after Thomas Tuchel's sacking, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly set to take the reins at Paris Saint-Germain after Thomas Tuchel's sacking.

Tuchel was relieved of his duties at PSG on Thursday morning, with the French champions enduring a stuttering start to their Ligue 1 title defence this season.

PSG thrashed Strasbourg 4-0 in Tuchel's final game in charge, but with Lyon currently leading the way at the top of the rankings, the 47-year-old has been let go after two-and-a-half years in the dugout.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Pochettino, who was strongly linked with the Manchester United job, has ended long-running speculation over his next career move by agreeing a deal to become PSG's new manager.

Romano claims that PSG's sporting director Leonardo has been in contact with Pochettino's camp since the start of this week, and former Parisiens midfielder Thiago Motta was the other name on the Ligue 1 champions' shortlist.

The PSG job will represent Pochettino's return to management after nearly a year away from the game, with the Argentine having been sacked by Tottenham on November 19 last year.
