Real Madrid have revealed that Eder Militao is facing a spell on the sidelines with the muscular problem that he aggravated during Saturday's La Liga clash with Villarreal.
Militao had been expected to miss out against Villarreal due to the issue that he suffered during the Champions League clash with Lille last week.
However, he was involved against the Yellow Submarine, featuring for the final 20 minutes of what proved to be a 2-0 success for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Militao was able to complete the match, but he aggravated the problem, and the South American has now been officially diagnosed with a muscular issue in his left leg.
"Following tests carried out on our player Eder Militao by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the quadriceps of his left leg. Pending evolution," read a statement from Real Madrid's official website.

Militao has pulled out of the Brazil squad for their October internationals with Chile and Peru, and Real Madrid will now be sweating on his fitness ahead of their return to action.
Real Madrid will resume their La Liga campaign against Celta Vigo on October 19, before finishing the month with matches against Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.
Vinicius Junior has also been forced to pull out of the Brazil squad due to the neck problem that he suffered against Villarreal, but the forward should return for the clash with Celta.
Kylian Mbappe is another Real Madrid player who will be resting during the international break, as the attacker was left out of the France squad with a view to recovering from a recent issue.

Which other Real Madrid players are injured?
As well as Militao and Vinicius, Thibaut Courtois is currently on the sidelines, with the Belgian goalkeeper missing due to a hip problem, but he is expected to be available before the end of the month.
David Alaba remains a long-term absentee due to a serious knee injury, and he is running out of time when it comes to a return to action before the end of the year.
Dani Carvajal, meanwhile, is out for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign due to the serious knee injury that he suffered in the latter stages of the clash with Villarreal.
Real Madrid have struggled to find their best form in the early stages of the current season, and they have only won one of their last three matches in all competitions, but Ancelotti's side sit second in the La Liga table, just three points behind leaders Barcelona on the same number of games (nine).
