Maicon has committed his future to Roma by signing a new contract.
The full-back's previous deal had been due to expire at the end of the season, but the 33-year-old will now remain at the Stadio Olimpico until 2016.
"I'm proud to go on wearing these colours for many years to come. It's a great honour and now it's down to me to perform," he told the club's official website.
The Brazilian joined the Serie A outfit last summer following his release by Premier League champions Manchester City.
