Sheffield Wednesday's Stuart Gray nominated for Championship Manager of the Month

New Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray is put forward for January's Championship Manager of the Month.

New Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray has been put forward as one of the four nominees for January's Championship Manager of the Month.

Gray is joined by Nottingham Forest's Billy Davies, Nigel Pearson of Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers' Harry Redknapp in being nominated.

The Owls have moved away from the bottom three and an unbeaten January was crowned by a memorable 6-0 Yorkshire derby victory over Leeds United.

Davies's Forest also didn't suffer defeat as they kept up their playoff charge. The most pleasing moment for Davies would have surely been when his three substitutes all scored in the comeback win against Watford.

Pearson's Foxes have now won nine straight games and in January triumphed in all five games to go well clear at the table's summit.

Lastly, Redknapp ensured that QPR held on to second place with a perfect month that included an impressive 3-1 win on the road at stubborn Ipswich Town.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
