Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez has threatened to not play for the club again amid speculation over his future.
Club president Albano Guaraldi revealed that he promised Ramirez he could leave the club if anyone met their financial demands, which hasn't happened.
However, Ramirez has grown frustrated by the lack of a move, and has taken matters into his own hands by threatening to refuse to play.
"He's very angry, Ramirez has told me that he's threatening not to play anymore. I've tried talking to him, to explain the situation, that I can't sell him without guarantees," Guaraldi said.
"Footballers are often badly advised and in this case his agent has made moves without our knowledge. There has been no concrete proposal to date, there has been some contact from abroad, but we aren't prepared to let him go for less than a certain figure.
"If the conditions that we laid out at the start of the transfer window are met, the player will be sold, otherwise we wait."
Ramirez has been heavily linked with a number of clubs, including Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan, although Southampton appear to be in the driving seat to secure his signature.
