Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has revealed that the 'desired movement did not happen' during the transfer window.
The 28-year-old had been linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer as a replacement for Real Madrid-bound David de Gea.
According to L'Equipe, members of the United board were keen on the Frenchman but manager Louis van Gaal had other targets in mind. Despite the speculation, Lloris says that it has not distracted him from his job at Spurs this season.
Speaking at a news conference before France's game against Portugal, he said: "A lot of things were said and written - there could have been a development there but the desired movement didn't happen.
"I have a lot of affection for Tottenham. I feel respected, I have a very good relationship with the staff and I'm ready to play the best season possible."
Lloris has managed three appearances for Tottenham this season after missing the start of the campaign with a fractured wrist.
