Joao Cancelo: 'Gary Neville has our backing'

Valencia defender Joao Cancelo states that the players will back the club's new head coach Gary Neville.

Valencia defender Joao Cancelo has insisted that the players will give new head coach Gary Neville their full backing.

The former Manchester United and England right-back has taken charge of Los Che until the end of the season following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo.

Neville, who will officially begin his work at the La Liga outfit on Sunday, will remain in his role as a coach under England boss Roy Hodgson until Euro 2016 at the least.

"He's a legend in England and we're going to be behind him," Sky Sports News quotes Cancelo as saying.

"We take things game by game and we will try to compete to win."

Valencia beat Baracaldo 3-2 in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, with Gary's brother Phil Neville assisting caretaker boss Voro.
