Phil Neville hails "brave" brother Gary for agreeing to become Valencia boss

Phil Neville says that his brother Gary Neville is "brave" to take on the head coach role at Valencia.

Phil Neville has praised his brother Gary for taking on the head coach role at Valencia.

The former Manchester United captain, who has not yet had a managerial job, was a surprise appointment on Wednesday.

Neville will work alongside his brother, who has been the club's assistant manager for the last six months.

On BreatheSport, Neville said: "Really looking forward to the next chapter here at Valencia working with Gary - in life to succeed you have to be brave and take risks-can't wait for the Barcelona game Saturday #amunt."

Gary has relinquished his role as a Sky Sports pundit but will continue to work as part of Roy Hodgson's coaching team with the England national side.
