Chris Brunt: Tony Pulis a "perfect fit" for West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt says that Tony Pulis will prove to be a "perfect fit" at The Hawthorns.

Chris Brunt is optimistic that newly-appointed West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis will prove a "perfect fit" for the Baggies.

On Thursday, West Brom announced that the former Stoke City boss would replace Alan Irvine at The Hawthorns following the Scot's dismissal last week.

The 56-year-old brings with him the distinction of never being relegated and, with Albion 16th in the table, one point above the drop zone, Brunt feels that Pulis has the know-how to guide the club to safety.

"We've seen his track record everywhere he has been. His teams are very difficult to break down and they win games," he told Sky Sports News.

"At the moment that is exactly what we need to do. We're conceding a lot of goals and we're not winning games so he's probably a perfect fit for us at the moment.

"He nipped in a couple of times today and said his piece and he seems a pretty positive guy and hopefully we can adapt to whatever he wants us to do and start climbing the league table."

Pulis will kick off his spell in the West Midlands in Saturday's visit of Gateshead in the FA Cup.
