Danny Batth scores late as Wolverhampton Wanderers draw with Brighton & Hove Albion

Danny Batth equalises late on as Wolverhampton Wanderers come from behind to snatch a point at home to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Championship.

Danny Batth's late goal cruelly denied Brighton & Hove Albion victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon.

The struggling Seagulls had to settle for a 1-1 draw after they led for almost all of the game at Molineux.

Bent stooped low to head home Inigo Calderon's cross after 10 minutes, as the Wolves defence left the Aston Villa loanee unmarked at the far post.

Wolves struggled to create chances in a quiet opening period, but went close when Dave Edwards glanced Bakary Sako's cross wide.

Sako almost sent Wolves level before the interval when he volleyed James Henry's cross towards goal, forcing a acrobatic save from David Stockdale.

The influential winger thought that he earned his side a penalty just minutes into the second half as he went down under a challenge, but the referee, who had pointed to the spot initially, changed his decision after talking to his assistant.

This added fire to the game and Brighton were reduced to 10 men just before the hour mark when Bruno got a straight red card for a two-footed lunge on Kevin McDonald.

With the extra man, Wolves put the visitors under intense pressure and Batth equalised with just minutes to go as he reacted quickest to a loose ball from a Sako corner to smash the ball in.
