Gareth Widdop boots England chances

Gareth Widdop is in the picture to make England's Rugby League World Cup squad after making his full return from injury on Friday.

Half-back Gareth Widdop could make the England squad for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup after playing the entire 80 minutes in his side Melbourne Storm's 20-10 defeat to South Sydney.

The 24-year-old dislocated his hip in late June and was initially expected to miss the remainder of the domestic season in Australia.

However, Widdop featured in a reserve grade match for East Tigers last weekend and turned out for Storm on Friday.

England and Wales will host the competition that will run from October 26 to November 30 of this year.
