London Irish's Steven Shingler is banned for a month for a dangerous tackle on Cardiff Blues centre Dafydd Hewitt.

London Irish fly-half Steven Shingler has been given a one-month suspension for a dangerous tackle during his side's loss to Cardiff Blues in the Heineken Cup on Friday evening.

The 20-year-old has been cited for a challenge that he made on Blues centre Dafydd Hewitt.

Shingler was initially dealt a six-week ban, but this was reduced to four after the player's guilty plea and clear record was taken into account.

He will not be available for selection until Monday, December 19.
