Andy Murray is safely through to the semi-finals of the men's Olympic singles following a comfortable straight-sets victory over Nicolas Almagro at Wimbledon.
The British fourth seed got an early break thanks to an Almagro double fault before serving four consecutive aces to take a 5-3 lead.
The Spaniard, who was struggling with a shoulder problem, then held allowing Murray to serve out the opening set 6-4.
Almagro received treatment from the trainer before the start of the second set and looked well below par throughout the contest.
When play resumed, Murray asserted his dominance quickly as he failed to drop a point in the opening two games.
The Scot broke again to make it 4-1 and went on to close out the match 6-1 in just 59 minutes.
Murray will face either Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Novak Djokovic in the next round.
