Defending men's doubles gold medallists from Switzerland Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka are out of the London Games after defeat to Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram of Israel.

Swiss pair Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka, the defending men's doubles gold medallists, have been knocked out of the London Games by Israeli duo Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram.

Federer and Wawrinka looked on top form in the opening set as they raced to a 6-1 success in half an hour.

The second set was much closer, with neither pair surrendering their service before Erlich and Ram won through in the tie-break to send the match to a deciding third set.

The Israeli pair upset the odds by breaking the Swiss serve in the fourth game before going on to record a 6-3 triumph and book their place in the quarter-finals, where they take on the number one seeded Bryan brothers of America.
