Stanislas Wawrinka: 'Donald Young plays better at home'

Fifth seed Stanislas Wawrinka believes that playing in America brings out the best in Donald Young, who he beat in the fourth round at the US Open.

Stanislas Wawrinka has said that Donald Young was boosted by playing on home soil during this year's US Open.

The French Open champion beat the 26-year-old American in four sets earlier today, preventing Young from reaching the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career.

The fifth seed told reporters: "I think now he is more the player that he is. He's playing his game. He's trying to play the way he wants. He's trying to do things. He's coming to the court knowing what he's going to try to do.

"Now we have to see how he's going to go from here also because we all know that in general when he's playing at home he's playing better than the rest of the tournaments."

Wawrinka will face the winner of the match between Andy Murray and Kevin Anderson in the last eight.
